The All Hands on Deck 360 (AHOD360) project is proud to announce the successful operation of the WP2 Shipwright Collaborative Portal, a dedicated online platform for the European boatbuilding community. Following an open testing phase in October-November 2023, the portal has been fine-tuned based on valuable participant feedback and is now fully operational.
With over 70 active members, the portal has become a dynamic space for communication and knowledge exchange across four distinct groups: Shipwright to Shipwright, Shipwright to Student, Shipyard to Shipwright, and the Notice Board. These groups allow professionals and learners to share specific questions, insights, and information, fostering a collaborative environment that supports the growth and preservation of traditional boatbuilding skills.
The portal’s launch was reinforced by a series of online workshops held across various maritime regions in Europe from October 2023 to February 2024. These hybrid webinars attracted enthusiastic participants, including shipwrights, students, educators from colleges and universities specializing in wood and furniture technologies, and representatives from heritage and promotion organizations. The workshops provided an excellent platform to introduce the portal, which has since become a valuable resource for the community.
